HOW TO ORDER and SHIPPING COSTS

Most of our products like engines, genuine parts and accessories
are available direct from us or through a few authorized dealers.

Recently some, not all, packages are taking extended transit times.
Up to and over 4 weeks in the US and 60 days internationally.

If the post has the package and it is just sitting in one of their hubs, we can't do much but just wait.

Postal costs are all over the place. Constant changes.
We will really try our best to give you the most reasonably cost.
We do add a small handling charge just to stay in business.

When ordering through our cart, YOU WILL NOT BE CHARGED AT CHECK OUT.
We do this because if an item is out of stock or delayed we don't want your payment.
If there is more than a 2 week delay in processing your order we will contact you prior to processing.

PayPal is accepted but we will send a request for payment after you order through our shopping cart.
This will usually take up to two business days.
We won't charge your credit card unless an item is in stock and
available for shipment within 1 or 2 business days.

This policy has come about as we have had several packages take in excess of 60 days to reach the destination. Most likely from the Chinese Wuhan Coronavirus. We can not tolerate chargebacks on payments for circumstances beyond our control.

PLEASE NOTE, AT THIS TIME, WE CANNOT FILE AN INSURANCE CLAIM UNTIL 60 DAYS AFTER THE PACKAGE IS SHIPPED.

WE HAVE BEEN IN BUSINESS FOR OVER 40 YEARS AND ARE WELL KNOWN WORLDWIDE. BE ADVISED IF YOU DO FILE A CHARGEBACK PRIOR TO CONTACTING US AND ALLOWING US TO RESOLVE YOUR PROBLEM, WE WILL NEVER SELL TO YOU AGAIN.

High Cost and Slow Service

Minimum postal cost we charge for International is $16.99 and it seems many times it's $19.99

The Post here raised the cost ridiculously high. A 2oz rigid letter is charged as a package which is $14.00 our cost.

search "Calculate price based on Shape and Size" then put 2oz as the standard weight.

If you pick anything other than "Only Nonnegotiable Document(s)" the least expensive is $14.00

If you click "Only Nonnegotiable Document(s)" The cost low but there is no tracking and it is possible the part will be torn out of the envelope when it goes through the sorting machine or it will be returned to us.

PayPal and credit card companies require tracking as part of our agreement.

If you just buy gaskets, O-ring, etc. and want to pay by "Friends and Family" with PayPal or send an International Money Order, we can charge you $4.99 for shipping. You will assume all the risk of not receiving it and by paying "Friends and Family" you can not dispute the transaction. Requirements are Business Size envelope, Not Rigid, less than 1/4" thick. We do take a picture of the envelope with postage attached and will email it to you on request.

  • The following information should be provided by foreign customers who are paying with credit card:

    FOREIGN ORDERS MAY BE ASKED TO VERIFY AN ARBITRARY CHARGE TO THEIR CREDIT CARD PRIOR TO ITEM SHIPMENT TO VERIFY VALIDITY OF CREDIT CARD. This may delay shipment a few days.

  • We recommend Priority Mail or Global Express to protect your goods against loss or breakage which might occur in transit. If you decide on First Class Mail, a tracking number showing the package was received by and left our Post Office will relieve MECOA of any liability for lost or damaged merchandise.
  • *MECOA/K&B's only obligation for lost or damage of uninsured packages will be to provide the customer with tracking number showing acceptance by the US Post Office. This confirms we did mail it at our end. You agree to have no recourse against MECOA/K&B if you do not receive the package.

  • NOTE: Since mail service has changed from Air Mail to First Class Air we have had packages take up to and over a month to reach customers. This is not the norm but it does occur in rare instances. The longest transit times so far was: 59 days to the UK - 3-2019 -- 60 days to Canada, stuck in German Customs for 35 days. Yep, Los Angeles to Canada and it ended up in German customs -- 78 days to France, shipped May 7, delivered July 23, 2020
  • Insurance claims for loss or damage to foreign countries will be the obligation of the customer. MECOA/K&B will provide the customer documentation and assist with the required procedures with the US Postal service. Other than that the claims process is out of our control and the responsibility of the customer. Our only obligation for First Class Mail is proof of shipment as mentioned above. Under no circumstances may the customer withdraw payment in the form of a charge back if MECOA provides them proof of shipment in form of a tracking number..

We have been in business since 1946 (Under same ownership since 1980) and are not here to misrepresent or cheat anyone. But some customers have abused the PayPal system and we are unable accept this situation. By ordering you are agreeing to our terms. Unlike many websites, our Irwindale, California location is clearly listed and easily found by any Internet search.

PAYMENT TERMS
  • All prices are in US Dollars. Payment must be made in US Funds.

  • Shipments within California are subject to sales tax.

  • All major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express) are accepted. We also accept Money Orders, Cashiers Checks and Personal Checks. (Note that personal checks may require clearance time).

  • PayPal is accepted but we will initiate a request for payment after you submit your order.
    This will usually take 1 or 2 working days. We do this because if an item is out of stock or delayed you will be notified before payment request is made. It is our policy not accept payment until an order is ready to ship from from our facility within one or two business days.

  • Sending cash is not recommended. If you send cash, do so at your own risk.

  • Payment is required prior to shipment. No C.O.D. or open account orders.
    In God We Trust, All others pay in advance.

  • Returned checks are subject to a $25.00 fee.

  • Charge backs on credit cards and PayPal are subject to a $30.00 service fee. If you feel there is a problem please contact us first. You have at least a 90 day grace period with your credit card company and PayPal to dispute a charge.

  • Wire transfers are subject to a $45.00 processing fee which should be added to your total. This is what our bank charges us. (I wish I was the bank)
